Overseer Freddie Washington

Overseer Freddie L. Washington, II is senior pastor/teacher of Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church. He has been a minister/preacher of the gospel for more than 20 years and was chosen as successor to his mentor and pastor-emeritus, Bishop E. L. Palmer, who founded Cornerstone, in 1993.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Pastor Washington received his Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Sciences from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, with a concentration in Financial Planning and Counseling. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning his Master of Arts Degree in Practical Ministry from Beacon University in Columbus, Georgia.  Additionally, he has obtained his certificate of Biblical Studies from the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International School of Christian Education.

Pastor Washington is an accomplished musician, music director, and producer.  Currently, he serves as International Overseer of Minstrels for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. He was co-production coordinator for the 2010 stellar award winning project, Cry Your Last Tear, recorded by Bishop Paul S. Morton and the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Mass Choir. He was also executive producer for the Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church Music Ministry debut cd, The Order of Worship, which charted in the top 20 on gospel music billboards in its first week of release.

Pastor Washington authored and released his first book in 2013, entitled, “The Glory Chasers”, which deals with understanding and accessing the presence and power of God through praise and worship.

Community Involvement

Deeply concerned with community involvement and making an impact on the lives of youth and young adults, Pastor Washington serves on a number of boards and organizations, including Community Service Programs of West Alabama, whose mission is to provide resources and services, which resolve immediate needs and lead to long term self-sufficiency for low income and vulnerable populations, and Mind Changers Inc, a mentoring and community outreach initiative, whose mission is to train young boys and girls to become the future leaders of tomorrow. Overseer Washington is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc and the 100 Black Men of America, West Alabama Chapter. He is married to Tomalisa (Lewis) Washington, and they have two beautiful and gifted daughters, Jasmin Tyri (Walton) and Nailah Grace.
